Common Billing Questions
- How do I verify my physical therapy benefits?
- Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your physical therapy benefits — specifically your deductible, copay/coinsurance, and whether a referral or prior authorization is required. Our front desk team can also help verify your benefits when you schedule.
- Do I need a referral for my insurance to cover PT?
- It depends on your plan. Many plans, especially PPO plans, do not require a referral. HMO plans may require a referral from your primary care physician. Tennessee is a direct-access state, so you can always start PT without a referral — the question is just whether your insurance will require one for coverage.
- What if I haven't met my deductible?
- If you haven't met your annual deductible, you'll be responsible for the contracted rate until it's met. After your deductible is satisfied, your plan's copay or coinsurance will apply. Our billing team can provide an estimate based on your benefits.
- Do you offer self-pay rates?
- Yes. If you don't have insurance or prefer not to use it, we offer competitive self-pay rates. Ask your clinic's front desk team for current pricing.
- When will I receive a bill?
- After your insurance has processed the claim, any remaining balance is your responsibility and you'll receive a statement. Most claims are processed within 30–45 days. You can always contact your clinic's billing team with questions.
